The SDT - 170 Series Ultrasonic detectors utilize ultrasonic technology to enable plant maintenance staff to easily and quickly detect even the smallest compressed gas and/or vacuum leak. It enables maintenance personnel to reliably sense high-frequency sounds generated by leaks, monitor bearings, and detect abnormal equipment operation. This makes ultrasonic detectors a vital tool in plant maintenance programs. Interface devices connect detection systems to computers for systematic data collection and trending analyses.

The SDT 170-M adds a digital numbering readout (dBuV), contact probe, probe tip, 1000 point internal memory (each point can record and store up to four different measurements, date and time stamp) and the following additional sensor measurement options activated: airborne sound level metering dB(A), tachometer (RPM), temperature (deg. F, C, R, or K), light level (lux), and pH. Sensors for these functions are optional and are sold separately.
The SDT 170-MD includes all of the above features and expands memory up to 15,000 points (each point can now be identified with up to 10 alphanumeric characters), activation of the RS-232/IRDA ports and full data logger, remote database/trend/alarm/warning level management software with full upload and download data transmission capabilities. As for the SDT 170-M, sensors for the other functions are sold separately.
